Described as 82 years young, Maloney has been a good neighbor to all, beyond the normal expectation. He has used his personal vehicle to bring the elderly and disabled to medical appointments and in medical emergencies before the time of ambulances, has cut and delivered firewood for families who were wanting due to sickness or death in a family, and has provided those who were hungry with fresh and frozen foods from his own supply. His numerous contributions include, but are not limited to, St. Patrick’s Parish Council, the group of volunteers for the reconstruction of the bell tower of St. Anne’s Church, serving on Rural Development Committees and Local Education Boards, and leading a fundraising campaign to restore St. Anne’s Church.
