The volunteers of the East Coast Trail Association have provided Newfoundland and Labrador with an award winning wilderness hiking trail stretching over more than 500 KM of the coastline on the Avalon Peninsula. The trail attracts visitors from all over North America and Europe and has even been named a top destination by National Geographic. Respect for our local history is also incorporated into the trail by bearing distinctive traditional names. This amazing seascape can be enjoyed at no cost because of trail volunteers’ contributions in preserving access for walkers and hikers, along with the help of the crown lands division of the province.
